Christmas Panel with Kunin Felt

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designers Craft Connection blog hop this month.  This month we are working with products from the Kunin Group and I had fun experimenting.

I wanted to create a hanging panel so I began by cutting the 12" x 18" Premiumfelt to 9" x 12" then I added a pom pom border to the panel, simply gluing it in place.

Using the 9" x 12" Classicfelt in yellow, I die cut a large oval using Spellbinders dies.  For a perfect cut, I added a shim of cardstock under the felt and it cut beautifully.  I then used Ranger Distress Ink with a Hero Arts Stamp to add a touch of color.

Using a Sizzix die, I cut the Vintage Couple from 9" x 12" Classicfelt in black, then adhered them to the oval and placed that on the panel.

The vintage hanger was die cut from 9" x 12" Classicfelt in black using another Sizzix die and an oval was die cut from white felt with another Spellbinders die.  Using a stamp from Joy Clair, I stamped Merry Christmas in black ink on the 9" x 12" Classicfelt in white.

To finish, I folded down approximately 1" across the top of the panel and glued it in place.  A small rod was placed through and then ribbon was tied creating the hanger.

Please stop by the Designers Craft Connection to see all the projects created this month.

ATSM Challenge # 260

Hi everyone.  It's a new challenge at ATSM and this week we'd love to see your interpretation of this photo:

I chose to work in black and white and created a thank you card.

The papers are from Canvas Corp. and are strong enough for the card base as well as all my layers.

For a little definition between the layers, I added a ribbon.  The butterfly was fussy cut from pattern paper and added with foam adhesives for dimension.

Time for Tea

Hi everyone.    It's Tuesday and it's my turn on the Topflight Stamp blog.  If you haven't checked out the Topflight store yet, you need to see the variety of stamps in the store.  They have some amazing stamps from all over the world.

Today I'm using Enchanted Tea Party.

I created a background using the tea cup and watch, repeatedly stamping each in black ink on a panel of white.

Next, I wrapped Whisker Graphics twine around the panel and adhered the panel to a black card.

I stamped the tea pot on another panel of white and die cut.  I added it to a larger black circle, then placed it on the card using foam adhesives for dimension.  The phrase was added next to the tea pot.

I love the black and white effect on this card.

Joy Clair and RInea Foiled Cards

Hi everyone, I'm on the Joy Clair blog today with two of the new stamp sets that  were recently released.  We are also working with Rinea Foils this month and I created two very different cards combining Joy Clair stamps and Rinea Foils.

My first card uses the Be a Flamingo stamp set which consists of 13 images and phrases.   I  started by adding black cardstock to my card, then I cut Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper slightly smaller and embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.   The foils emboss really well and the details reflect that.

After adhering the embossed paper to the card, I added a strip of pink cardstock and wrapped some twine on the right side.  The flamingo was stamped on white cardstock and colored before die cutting, matting and adding to the card with foam adhesives.  I die cut the phrase and added it in the left corner.

For my next card, I used October Fun.  Consisting of 13 images and phrases, this stamp set is perfect for bible journaling and card making.  It makes for awesome Halloween cards.

I used Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and embossed it with a Halloween embossing folder.  Next, I stamped and fussy cut 3 of the Halloween images from  October Fun.  I lined them up in front of the embossed Halloween house.  The panel was matted with blue cardstock and added to a black card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Happy Haunting was stamped on white cardstock, die cut and matted with blue cardstock.

Christmas Cards with Rinea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, now that summer is ending, it's time to turn our thoughts toward Christmas creations.  Incorporating Rinea Foiled Papers in card making makes the cards truly elegant.

I used an assortment of Rinea Foiled Papers, Joy Clair stamps, Spellbinders dies and embossing folders to create two very different Christmas cards.

I cut Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to fit a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.  The foil embosses beautifully.

I matted the embossed panel with black cardstock so the Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper really stands out.

Using Spellbinders Ornament dies, I die cut large ornaments from black cardstock and medium ornaments from Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  Then I die cut the wreaths from Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  Using glue dots, I placed the wreaths on the ornaments and added bows to the top.  I adhered the foiled ornaments to the black ornaments.

Joy was stamped on white cardstock, die cut then added to the center of the ornament.  Whisker Graphics twine was tied to the ornaments before adding them to the card.

My next card uses another Spellbinders ornament die.

I embossed white cardstock with another Cuttlebug embossing folder and lightly inked it.

I die cut a large ornament from Ruby/Ruby Star Struck Foiled Paper and a smaller ornament from white cardstock.  Using black ink, I stamped the phrase on the white ornament.  After die cutting another ornament from Gold/Gold Star Struck Foiled Paper, I also die cut the center.  I  adhered the white ornament under the Gold/Gold Star Struck Foiled Paper, creating a border.

I added the larger ornament to the card with foam adhesives for dimension and then placed the smaller ornament on top with foam adhesives.

These are such pretty cards.  Are you ready to start creating your Christmas cards yet?

Joy Clair Coffee Lovers blog hop

Joy Clair is participating in the coffee lovers blog hop.

I've used the Christmas Coffee clear stamp set plus the Coffee Quotes clear stamp set.

I wanted a simple card, so I stamped the coffee cup in gray ink then die cut it and matted it with a larger die.

The card was created from black cardstock and a layer of pattern paper added on top.  After wrapping it with Whisker Graphics twine, I added the coffee cup on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

The coffee quote was stamped on white cardstock, then die cut and added back to a black layer for dimension.

Fall Platter with Proxxon Tools

Hi everyone, it's officially Fall.  The air is cooler.  The days are shorter and I've even had to put the heat on in my car yesterday!!

I thought I'd create a Fall Platter that can be used as a holiday decoration.

Or, perhaps even hold seasonal fruits and veggies.

I began by sanding the platter with the Delta Sander.

Next, I used the Pen Sander to sand the edges.

I painted the top of the platter with Folk Art Milk Paint in Tavern Ale .

I painted the bottom of the platter with  Folk Art Milk Paint in Absinthe.

I decorated the platter with a Folk Art Stencil.  Using a foam brush, I mixed  Folk Art Brushed Metal Acrylic Paints in  Brushed Copper and Brushed Gold and Folk Art Color Shift Acrylic Paint in Red Flash and Green Flash.    These colors are truly vibrant and showcase the colors of the season.

Once dry, I painted on a layer of Milk Paint Finishing Oil and allowed it to dry.

I love how this platter turned out and see lots of ways to use it this season.

Tutti Designs Glittered Panel

Hi everyone, I love Tutti Designs dies and wanted to do something a little different with the  Oriental Screen Craft Die

I die cut a white panel using the Oriental Screen Craft Die.  Due to the delicate nature of this die, I placed it on a sheet of Scor-Tape, cutting the adhesive sheet to fit the die cut panel.

Because of the exposed adhesive, I knew glitter would stick.  I poured an assortment of Blue Fern Studio Glitter on the panel then gently rubbed the glitter into the adhesive.

I tapped off the excess glitter and then added the panel to a card created from Bazzill Taffy cardstock.

I wrapped May Arts ribbon around the panel.

Using a journaling card from the Rossi Belle Journaling pack, I die cut it with a Spellbinders oval die and matted it with a larger die.   I adhered it over the ribbon using Scrapbook Adhesives 3D foam squares for dimension.

Doesn't it look pretty?

Hi everyone, I'm on the Just 4 Fun Rubber Stamp blog today working with their newest release of stamps!

Having funwith some of the newest stamps from Just 4 Fun Rubber Stamps - Moonlit Witch Silhouette.  I wanted her to peek out of a card, so I die cut the circle from the card front and placed the image behind the window.

Enchanted Bookmarks

Hi everyone.    It's Tuesday and it's my turn on the Topflight Stamp blog.  If you haven't checked out the Topflight store yet, you need to see the variety of stamps in the store.  They have some amazing stamps from all over the world.

Today I'm using  Enchanted Tea Party stamps from Couture Creations to create bookmarks.  With school in session, why not create bookmarks to help your children enjoy the reading process.

I began by cutting cardstock strips 2" x 6" and embossing them with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Then I matted each with blue cardstock.  To emphasize the embossing, I ran a blue ink pad across each one.

I stamped the phrases in black ink, then die cut each to fit the tags.  For extra strength, I matted each bookmark again then added Whisker Graphics twine.

Clear Scraps Frame

Hi everyone I'm on the the Clear Scraps blog working with the September kit.  This kit contains a Desk Page Frame as well as papers from Simple Stories.

I painted the chipboard panel with black paint.

Next, I cut pattern paper to fit.  Selecting one of the included phrases, I cut it to fit the chipboard panel.

I painted the frame with yellow paint and slipped the chipboard panel inside.  I also painted one of the acrylic stars with black paint and fussy cut a clock to sit on top.
